Photoshop 7.0 has been a struggle for me since I was given it, by my in laws almost 2 years ago. I knew that it could not possibly be a difficult as I was making it. I have even considered buying a "photoshop 7.0 for Dummies" book, that I saw at Barnes and Noble!!
Tonight, I had a breakthrough!!! :) I was downloading papers off various sites, and found a VERY basic tutorial on one site, that REALLY helped me wrap my mind around that basics of this crazy program!!!
This is a VERY boring post, but if you are in the same boat, you should check out the tutorials on http://www.designerdigitals.com/ It helped my so so so much! I finally was able to play around with the custom title (even though I don't love the one I created). BTW, they have step by steps for other similar programs, also.
Anyway, I know that this is boring, but thought I would share my find!

I showed you some scrapbooking using Photoshop probably two years ago. But now I use Photoshop Elements 6.0 for scrapbooking. It is much more user friendly and easier to use (and costs $80). I'd definitely recommend it. Try the download version first.
